Inner-city America is a largely underserved and overlooked mission field. Millions live in oppressive urban environments without exposure to the Gospel or the thorough teaching of the Word of God. As the church, we must face the reality that our inner cities are as much of an unreached mission field as third world nations.

Come be inspired by the experience of inner-city ministries that are making a difference for Christ in their mission fields. The conference will feature learning sessions on the unique aspects of American urban neighborhoods as well as messages from nationally-known Bible teachers.

During the conference, attendees will also participate in community outreaches scheduled "on the block" throughout Rock Ministries' urban community. We will not just be learning about inner-city missions, we will be doing inner-city missions.

Speakers include:

Pastor Mark Abrams started Calvary Chapel Word of Life, a church that grew out of a small Bible study. It is located in North Philadelphia, an area beset with urban blight and difficulies. He has a particular passion for evangelism in the inner-city and has much to share on effectively reaching an urban neighborhood for Christ.

Pastor Buddy Osborn is the founder and Senior Pastor of Rock Ministries of Philadelphia and its associated church, Calvary Chapel of Kensington. “The Rock” (as it’s known by neighbors) began as a boxing program for at-risk boys but has since grown to serve thousands in its inner city area. It offers outreaches to the poor, homeless, and addicted; and continues a vibrant youth ministry, providing sports, education and recreation to kids of all ages.

Andres Huerta is the Pastor of Living Way Christian Fellowship in Maywood, California. For many years he lived as a gang member, and spent his life in and out of prison. At the age of 26, his way of life caught up with him. Facing a double life sentence in prison, he committed his life to Jesus Christ and never looked back. He now reaches many young men and women caught up in the same gang lifestyle that had once ensnared him.

Jesse Cuaron is no stranger to the culture of urban America. He was raised in a environment dominated by criminality and drugs. In 1991, he gave his life to the Lord. He attended Bible college, as well as Pastoral and ministry programs. In 2005, he felt a call to Hemet, California, a town plagued with poverty and crime. He began a home fellowship that has since grown into a church, Living Way Christian Fellowship, Hemet. He serves as the Senior Pastor.

Keith Gardner

Ken Graves is the founding pastor of Calvary Chapel Bangor. He grew up in Bangor, Maine, but left at the age of 16 to pursue training in the ministry. At the age of 22, he responded to a call from God to present the Gospel and build a church in his hometown. The church began in 1991 in his Bangor apartment and has grown into a thriving fellowship. Among their many ministries, the church offers residential programs for men and women coming out of addiction. Ken is a well known speaker, communicating the Word very directly on issues facing today’s culture.

Harry Presley grew up in the South Jersey area in the turbulent years of the 60s and 70s. When he received Christ as his Savior in 1973, he experienced a life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. He is now the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel South Jersey, which grew out of a small home fellowship. Pastor Harry’s church has a heart for the inner city, particularly Philadelphia and their nearby city of Camden. After years of outreach, they have now planted a church in Camden to reach its urban population.
