Inner-city America is a largely underserved and overlooked mission field. Millions live in oppressive urban environments without exposure to the Gospel or the thorough teaching of the Word of God. As the church, we must face the reality that our inner cities are as much of an unreached mission field as third world nations.

Come be inspired by the experience of inner-city ministries that are making a difference for Christ in their mission fields. The conference will feature learning sessions on the unique aspects of American urban neighborhoods as well as messages from nationally-known Bible teachers.

During the conference, attendees will also participate in community outreaches scheduled "on the block" throughout Rock Ministries' urban community. We will not just be learning about inner-city missions, we will be doing inner-city missions.

Speakers include:

Pastor Jose Hernandez of Hope Central Watts in Los Angeles CA, under the direction and calling of the Holy Spirit, has been given the honor of teaching the Word of God. The Lord has given him a calling to lead, love, and learn. As a graduate of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa School of Ministry, Jose has been given the Vision to reach the lost in Watts with the Gospel – one housing project at a time, one block at a time.

Pastor Mark Abrams started Calvary Chapel Word of Life, a church that grew out of a small Bible study. It is located in North Philadelphia, an area beset with urban blight and difficulies. He has a particular passion for evangelism in the inner-city and has much to share on effectively reaching an urban neighborhood for Christ.

Pastor Buddy Osborn is the founder and Senior Pastor of Rock Ministries of Philadelphia and its associated church, Calvary Chapel of Kensington. “The Rock” (as it’s known by neighbors) began as a boxing program for at-risk boys but has since grown to serve thousands in its inner city area. It offers outreaches to the poor, homeless, and addicted; and continues a vibrant youth ministry, providing sports, education and recreation to kids of all ages.

Keith Gardner  grew up in the inner city of our Nation’s Capital. After surrendering his life to the Lordship of Jesus Christ as a young adult, the Lord called Keith into the ministry. Pastor Keith is passionate about teaching the Word of God and reaching the lost with the love of Jesus Christ. He is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Breath of Life in Largo, Maryland. With over 20 years of ministry experience, Keith, his wife Pam and their family continue to serve the Lord and the urban community of Prince Georges County, Maryland.

Jeremy Montgomery, President/CEO of Sunday Breakfast Rescue Mission, holds an M.A. in Urban Ministry from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and an M.B.A. in Management from Eastern University. He spent numerous years in pastoral ministry as well as international missions. He then spearheaded a significant expansion of a NJ Habitat for Humanity affiliate. In his current position at Sunday Breakfast, he leads Philadelphia’s largest shelter and support program for homeless men. He has developed an expertise in trauma and its effects on inner-city homeless.
